Uses

Mainly used as a solvent of cellulose nitrate, spray paint, quick-drying paint, varnish, enamel and paint stripping; also used as a fiber wetting agent, pesticide dispersant, resin plasticizer, organic synthesis intermediate,  iron and molybdenum determination reagent,  and a auxiliary solvent of improving emulsifying properties of minerals and dissolving minerals in liquid soaps.

Colorless flammable liquid with a moderate ether smell and low toxicity; boiling point: 171 °C; relative density (d): 0.9015; refractive index (n20): 1.4198; vapor pressure (20 °C): 0.101kPa; flash point: 61.1 °C; self-ignition point: 472 °C; dissolve in 20 times of water, soluble in most organic solvents and mineral oil and exhibit high dilution ratios with petroleum hydrocarbons.
