Uses |
Mainly used in the production of raw materials for trichlorfon, dichlorvos, methamidophos, acephate, phosphorus oxychloride, phosphorous acid, triphenyl phosphate and tritolyl phosphate. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used for the production of intermediates of sulfadiazine (SD), sulfamethoxydiazine sodium (SND), etc. In the dye industry, it is used as a comprehensive agent and catalyst. |

Clear and colorless fuming liquid; relative density: 1.574 (21 °C); melting point: -112 °C; boiling point: 75.5 °C; soluble in ether, benzene, chloroform, carbon disulfide and carbon tetrachloride. Exposed in humid air, it can be deteriorated and hydrolyzed into phosphorous acid and hydrogen chloride with white smoke; it reacts with oxygen to generate phosphorus oxychloride, reacts with chlorine to generate phosphorus pentachloride and ignites when in contact with organics. Flammable, irritative to mucous membranes, corrosive and toxic. |
